Our Network Operations team utilizes the latest technologies to support our high-availability, high-traffic applications in a 24×7 data center. Our software and network infrastructure powers high-profile destinations for CNBC, Microsoft, Comcast and many others who demand strict uptime and security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide monitoring, maintenance and on-call support for our hosted application data center.
  • Work with the Network Operations team to design and deploy network and hardware infrastructure, including power and cooling design.
  • Enforce operations and security policies in the hosted environment.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as 2nd tier support for our NOC/Support team.
  • Help ensure that customer SLAs are met at all times.
  • Respond quickly to downtime situations.
  • Communicate regularly with development and support teams regarding system status and implementation schedules.

Requirements

  • At least "" to 10 years experience within a Network Operations team providing on-call support for public, 24x7 hosted services.
  • Experience in scripting language. BASH, Ruby, or PERL.
  • Experience implementing and managing a configuration management system (Chef, Puppet)
  • Expertise in the administration of Linux and Windows based servers and networks.
  • Ability to analyze and maintain data center power and cooling systems.
  • Experience in capacity planning.
  • Experience required with: Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008, Linux/Unix Redhat / Centos, Apache, Tomcat, Jetty, IIS 5.0/6.0, Active Directory, HP/Cisco servers and blade server infrastructure.
  • VM administration experience preferred, preferably with VMware infrastructure.
  • Experience a plus with: Cisco IOS, Cisco ASA/PIX/FWSM, CiscoWorks LMS 2.5, F5 BigIP 9.x, MySQL, SQL 2000/2005, SQL clustering technologies, Linux and scripting technologies.
  • Storage/SAN experience highly desired particularly with HP EVA and NetApp solutions.
  • Experience supporting a 24x7x365 production environment required.
  • Experience installing and using monitoring tools: HP Systems Insight Manager, Zenoss, Cacti, Keynote, Sitescope
  • Understanding of SQL Server and MySQL administration
  • General network knowledge: snmp, tcp/ip,
  • Own vehicle / reliable transportation to get to datacenter
  • On call shift for at least 1 week a month.
  • Great attitude, character, integrity. “can do” attitude.
  • A keen analytical and structured approach to problem solving.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • A dedication to customer satisfaction.
  • MCSE, CISSP, CCNA, CCDA, RHCE or other relevant certs desirable.
