How easy is it for TV to be everywhere?
Just how easy, or not, will it be to make something like Jeff Bewkes’ vision for TV Everywhere a reality? Depends on who you ask. Last week, I highlighted some comments by ExtendMedia’s new CEO Tom MacIssac describing the proposed global online authentication system for pay-TV subscribers as a potential quagmire of technical, logistical and political pitfalls. A few days later at Cable Show 2009, however, Bewkes himself blithely dismissed the problem, calling online authentication “not hard to do.”
