Ian Blaine, Co-Founder & Strategic Advisor
Ian Blaine’s experience at large software companies, successful start-ups, and as a software industry entrepreneur gives him the credentials to successfully guide thePlatform from inception through the June 2006 acquisition by Comcast and beyond. Nine-plus years as a senior manager in the publishing division at Aldus/Adobe Systems gave Ian a strong product development background, and his pioneering acumen is proven by successfully launching Uniplanet—acquired by NBCi in 1999—and thePlatform in 2000.
Jamie Miller, Co-CEO
Jamie Miller is a technology executive with over 20 years of success managing and growing companies. He was an early member of thePlatform’s management team and rejoined the company in 2010 as COO/CFO. For the next four years, he focused on building a world-class consulting organization to complement the company’s world-class software offerings. Among Jamie’s experience prior to joining thePlatform, he co-founded and served as COO/CFO of what became ePartners, Microsoft’s largest business applications consultancy in the U.S. Jamie began his executive career as CFO of an e-commerce startup in 1993, and through the years has managed and grown businesses in the U.S. and abroad as COO, President, and CEO. As Co-CEO of thePlatform, Jamie’s strong management history and passionate leadership greatly contribute to the company’s growth and success.
Marty Roberts, Co-CEO
Marty Roberts’ diverse leadership background includes 19 years of product management, sales, and marketing. His experience developing strategy, building relationships with development organizations, and creating new products and services helped increase the customer base and profitability for organizations such as GiftCertificates.com and RealNetworks. His contributions to thePlatform’s success include repositioning the company and products; increasing brand awareness through advertising, PR, and the website; building an ecosystem with over 115 partners; and driving the product strategy for initiatives such as TV Everywhere and Virtual TV. Marty Roberts was named one of Multichannel News’ Top 40 executives under 40 in 2012.
Mike Horwitz, Senior Vice President, Engineering
Mike is Vice President of Engineering at thePlatform, where he is responsible for the company’s core product development, testing and deployment. In this role, he also oversees thePlatform’s operational business intelligence, including capacity planning and metrics monitoring. Previously, Mike held numerous senior-level engineering positions at Comcast Corp. (Nasdaq: CMCSA, CMCSK), where he built technology teams from the ground-up, oversaw a large portion of the backend data system development, and executed on the company’s online and next-gen product lines. Most recently, he served as Senior Director, Engineering for Comcast Converged Products. Before that, he was Senior Manager of Engineering and Principal Engineer, both for Comcast Interactive Media. Prior to Comcast, Mike was a technology manager and development lead for a number of network management start-ups in the greater Philadelphia area. Mike graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
Simon McGrath, General Manager, Europe
Simon McGrath leads European operations for thePlatform, additionally, Simon works with the senior executive team to guide product and commercial strategy for both domestic and international markets. Simon brings more than 20 years of experience leading strategic operational, marketing, sales and engineering initiatives at global organizations to his current position. Prior to his role at thePlatform, Simon served most recently as Chief Marketing Officer and Commercial Director of EMEA at SeaChange International Inc. At SeaChange, McGrath led the acquisition of Mobix Interactive Ltd. as well as held responsibility for all EMEA accounts, technology alliances and go-to-market strategies. Simon holds a master’s degree in computer science from Cambridge Unversity.
Alan Ramaley, Co-Founder & CTO
Alan Ramaley is responsible for the functional design of all of thePlatform’s product offerings. Prior to co-founding thePlatform, he was a program manager at Microsoft for seven years, where he worked on Microsoft Project, Microsoft Team Manager, and Microsoft Office. He holds nine patents and has one patent pending in the areas of digital media management, workflow, and content publishing. Alan has a Bachelor’s degree in Symbolic Systems and a Masters in Computer Science, both from Stanford University. Alan Ramaley was named Geek of the Year in Seattle Business Magazine/GeekWire’s 2011 Geek IT Awards.
Tina Santos, Chief Legal Counsel
Tina currently serves as the Chief Legal Counsel at thePlatform, where she directs all legal and compliance matters for the company. Prior to thePlatform, Tina was the general counsel and corporate secretary at StreamServe, Inc., where she managed all legal aspects relating to the company’s internal and external operations in the U.S. and 13 jurisdictions in Europe and Asia. Previously, she was a senior associate at the London office of Coudert Brothers, LLP, and served as an associate in the corporate securities and finance group of Perkins Coie, LLP. Prior to attending law school, she worked for Lone Wolf Technologies, a Seattle-based start-up company, where she managed all financing related activities, investor relations, and was Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors. Tina received her Juris Doctor with honors from the Seattle University School of Law and graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
John Frankovich, Vice President of Consulting Services, thePlatform
John Frankovich serves as Vice President of Consulting Services at thePlatform, where he is responsible for leading the company’s international consulting team, managing its growth and profitability objectives. Prior to his role at thePlatform, John spent more than six years as the CEO and founder of Vortex Consulting Partners, a professional services organization that merges user experience, business analysis and software development to create custom software solutions. Previously, he served as CEO and co-owner of the Ramp Technology Group, focused on the seamless integration of interactive design, software product engineering and technology outsourcing. Before that, he served as Senior Vice President of Capgemini, one of the world’s largest management consulting, technology outsourcing, and professional services firms. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Master’s of Science degree in Engineering, both from the University of Calgary.
Chris Drake, Vice President of Business Development, thePlatform
Chris Drake is Vice President of Business Development at thePlatform, responsible for the company’s strategic alliances, technology partnerships, and OEM businesses, where the company is working with third parties to enable their OTT, IPTV and online video publishing efforts. Most recently, Chris served as Executive Director at thePlatform and was responsible for thePlatform’s global business development efforts and Pay TV business strategy and sales. Previously, he served as both a Senior Director and Director of Business Development managing thePlatform’s relationships with TV operators and mobile carriers. Prior to joining thePlatform, Chis worked at RealNetworks as Director of Marketing and Strategic Relations, where he focused on the company’s efforts in mobile media and entertainment. Prior to that, he held various positions in the high tech and management consulting industry.
