Adobe Systems has long been a strategic partner of thePlatform. The two companies have collaborated on many product integrations and customer projects.

Adobe Pass

thePlatform has worked closely with Adobe® to take TV Everywhere from concept to reality. Pay TV customers can now enjoy content on a plethora of connected devices. Adobe’s remote authentication service and its client-side tool, collectively known as Adobe Pass, seamlessly verifies a user’s entitlement to content simply and securely, then thePlatform handles playback authorization, allowing quick time to market, a more secure environment, and more readily accessible content. thePlatform PDK comes with a plug-in (available as both a compiled SWF and a JavaScript file) so that you can easily integrate your players with Adobe Pass.

Flash

With the default set of Adobe Flash® components in the PDK, users can build fully functional players by writing simple HTML documents. Adobe Flash CS4 or Adobe Flex Builder 3 (or later) can be used to develop custom, Flash-based PDK plug-ins.

Additionally, thePlatform mpx video management console is built using Adobe Flash Builder™ 4 and includes an Adobe AIR® client for file uploads allowing customers to upload, manage, and publish video with a simple and intuitive Web-based interface.

Flash Access

thePlatform PDK comes with four plug-ins that can be used to play content protected with Adobe’s Flash Access DRM system. These plug-ins work with content that has been processed and protected using thePlatform’s Entitlements workflow.

thePlatform’s Entitlements System integrates with Adobe Flash Access DRM for content packaging and license generation. Data from a Rights object is used to fashion the policy that sets the restrictions enforced by the Flash Player. Learn more on the Flash Access Partner Page.

HTTP Dynamic Streaming

HTTP Dynamic Streaming is a collection of technologies that enable adaptive bitrate streaming of standards-based MP4 media over HTTP connections. Adobe Dynamic Streaming also supports delivery of content protected with Adobe Flash Access.

RMP supports the packaging of media files using Adobe Dynamic Streaming with or without Flash Access encryption. The “FlashDynamic” plugin is included with RMP, but it requires additional software from Adobe to be installed on your RMP server, and additional configuration to enable encryption.

Adobe SiteCatalyst

thePlatform PDK includes a plug-in component that automatically tracks video selection and completion rates and sends the results to Adobe SiteCatalyst, powered by Omniture, for reporting. The plug-in tracks clip progress using the standard SiteCatalyst tools.

OSMF

Adobe and thePlatform have also collaborated to ensure that customers can use the Open Source Media Framework (OSMF) with thePlatform’s Feeds Service to deliver video into various playback environments.
