NBC Local Media Chooses thePlatform to Support Their Targeted Media Strategy
In launching its new business strategy, NBC Local Media was looking to do something different from what they had done in the past. They wanted to get to the next stage in their mission to “provide truly relevant local content to consumers on the media platform of their choice,” according to John Wallace, President, NBC Local Media thePlatform helped them do just that.
Using our Player Development Kit (PDK), NBC Local Media created locally targeted players to fit in with their local destination sites. Using completely customized players for individual sites, local stations can now create a unique user experience for their targeted audiences.
NBC Local Media has also taken advantage of thePlatform’s flexible account structures and Feeds Service. This way they can keep control of their content while empowering local sites to customize the viewing experience. Each local station produces and distributes its own video content, and can show that content in their own players and share it out to other stations. In addition, they can integrate programming from other NBC Universal and partner properties to create a more compelling content mix.
