PDK 4.0.3 improves the video player experience
Fast on the heels of our last Player Development Kit (PDK) release, PDK 4.0.3 offers a list of new graphical and usability updates that will improve the look and feel of your PDK 4 players.
PDK 4.0.3 updates include:
- Animated release lists. You can now animate the transition from page to page in the release list. Set pages to slide horizontally or vertically, or have pages fade from one to another.
- Image Smoothing. If the preview image is too small for the player, we smooth the image as needed so it looks less pixelated.
- Ad countdown. When an ad is playing, you can show an ad countdown until the end of the advertisement at the top. This text is completely customizable in the layout XML.
- Clip title on embeds. When you embed a player, you can show the title of the clip at the top.
- Vertical volume slider. You can now change the volume slider from horizontal to vertical.
- While a release list is loading, PDK 4.0.3 shows an “in progress” animation on top of the release list.
- Auto-paging. You can set a new release list flashvar called “autoPage” that goes to the next page of releases when the player gets to the end of the current release list page.
- Special title color in release list. Make the release list title a different color than the rest of the release list text.
- NetStream API. We have added an API so that plug-in writers can get every property, event, and callback on the NetStream object. This feature was designed for partners providing enhanced streaming and file delivery.
