What's new in the media publishing system version 5.15.4
Player and Affiliate Tracking
You can now track your content by which player it played in and what affiliate site linked to it. Add a "Player" and/or "Affiliate" parameter to your release URLs, and these values will show up in usage reports.
You asked for it: Better Exporting to Microsoft Excel
In response to customer demand, we've updated the mps Export to Microsoft Excel command. You'll find that when you export to Excel, you get a formatted report that looks like the onscreen version. We hope you find this improvement useful.
In addition, the Download as Text File command has been renamed Get Raw Data. It still works the same way, producing a text file in tab-separated format that contains all the rows and columns available for the selected date range.
Feeds Service Updates
More Control over Sorting
Most feeds are automatically sorted and show content from newest to oldest. But now you can have a feed that shows clips in a specific order. Create a playlist in mps with the order that you want, set that playlist on a category, and then when you ask the Feeds Service for items in that category, they'll come back in the order specified by the playlist.
Improved Podcast Support
Now when you create a podcast, you can add a link that leads to a related web page: just fill out the "More Info" field on the media in the Advertisting section.
Custom Media RSS Fields
Media RSS is a web standard for syndicating audio and video clips. The Feeds Service has supported media RSS from the beginning, and we've recently added metadata extension support for partners who need custom parameters like series title, episode number, etc.
And that's not all...
