Project Manager, Product Group

As a Project Manager, you will help coordinate the deployment of complex software projects in a web services environment, working with multiple development teams to deliver software products. You will also be an advocate for agile processes, helping the product owners and development leads practice agile in a consistent process and tracking progress using agile tools. You and the product owners will be responsible for coordination of the product launch with other internal teams, departments, and other stakeholders.
We practice agile development, with a focus on rational, sustainable schedules. There is a strong, collaborative relationship between program managers, developers, and QA engineers as partners in delivering quality services.
Our digital media management and publishing services manage millions of media files and process millions of hits per day. We've helped our customers integrate dozens of existing technologies and applications with thePlatform's ASP. Solutions built with thePlatform's services have become high-profile destinations for customers such as BBC Global News, CBS College Sports, Comcast.net, TruTV, Hearst Media, Helio, Sony BMG (US), and Sony Television.
Responsibilities
- As a Project Manager in an agile development environment, work with product owners and development teams to improve processes, track progress, coordinate deployments across multiple teams, and escalate issues as needed.
- Manage risks and dependencies with complex software deployments, working closely with engineering, deployment, support, and network operations .
- Maintain and update project schedules and generate related reports for stakeholders.
- Work with development teams to estimate the work for a given project, participate in sprint planning meetings for product teams, and attend daily scrums as needed.
- Work with engineering team and other stakeholders to define and document consistent processes and methodologies across teams.
- Aid engineering teams in using agile software tools for tracking time and progress.
Requirements
- Knowledge of rich media and content management.
- Experience with agile development, preferably ScrumMaster or equivalent certification.
- Understanding of and experience with the full software development lifecycle, including functional and technical specifications, implementation, QA processes, deployment and maintenance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience managing multiple complex projects.
- Proficiency in Java, Flex, .NET, C#, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and/or XML a plus.
