thePlatform mpx and PDK both support Silverlight, a cross-browser, cross-platform and cross-device browser plug-in that helps companies design, develop and deliver applications and experiences on the Web. Enjoy up to 1080p true HD-quality video using H.264 or WMV/VC-1. Use your existing Windows Media library or add support for third-party codecs. Extend engagement times using HTTP adaptive streaming for live or on-demand video. Silverlight adjusts quality in real-time based upon changing bandwidth and CPU conditions.

Microsoft® PlayReady® content access technology provides a platform for applying business models to the distribution and use of digital content. thePlatform Entitlements System integrates with PlayReady for content packaging and license generation with playback restrictions enforced by a Silverlight Player. The Player Dev Kit (PDK) includes a plug-in that works in conjunction with content that has been processed and protected using thePlatform’s Entitlements workflow.

A sitemap is the best way to have Bing index pages on your site that it might not find via standard indexing. A video sitemap contains video-specific information that Bing includes in video search results. thePlatform Feeds Service generates Media RSS (or MRSS) feeds that are tailored for use as Bing video sitemaps.

Our PDK includes a plug-in that parses data files from MSN and integrates those playlists into the set of playable media files. The plug-in automatically handles the distribution of Flash banner ads and supports the XML formats for MSN V3 and MPVA.

Additionally, as with many distribution outlets, MSN has their own metadata and file-type standards for syndicated content, and thePlatform’s MSN Connector allows you to ingest your content once and publish automatically to them.
